IELTS reading It is the second part of the IELTS exam, and it takes 1 hour (60 minutes) to complete all 3 sections of the IELTS reading test. It usually consists of three separate parts.

There will be a total of 40 questions in the IELTS reading test.

Each question carries one mark.

Though you can mark and write on the Question Paper, you must write your answers on the answer sheet, and be aware that there is no extra time is given for transferring your answers from the test booklet to the Reading Answer Sheet.

The academic reading test and general reading test are graded to the same level.

However, because the texts in the academic reading test are more challenging overall than those in the general reading test, more questions need to be answered carefully on a general reading test to receive the same grade.

The types of question you can appear in the test:

1.matching the phrases.

2.multiple choice questions.

3.sentence completion questions.

4.summary/diagram/flow chart/table completion.

5.choose heading for a paragraph.

6.Identification of yes / no / not given.

7.True, false or not given.

8.short-answer questions.

Instructions to candidates:

In the actual test you will be given the following instructions.

1.Do not open this question paper until you are told to do so write your name and candidate.

2.Number in the spaces at the top of the page read the instructions for each part of the paper careful.

3.Answer all the questions.

4.Write your answers on the answer sheet; use a pencil.

5.You must complete the answer sheet within the time limit.

At the end of the test you will be asked to hand in both the question paper and your answer  sheet.
